Quilt Top in 23 Seconds!

by Shannon Brinkley
Aug 16, 2025

I wanted to give you a sneaky peak at our Sasha quilt pattern. Here is a time lapse of my husband and I fusing the top of this Scrappy Applique pattern, Sasha.

It's so fun to see her come together so quickly! The video is only 23 seconds, but the actual process took about an hour... still quite quick. That is what I love about Scrappy Applique.

One of my favorite things about this technique is how intricate it looks, while being quite simple and quick to create -- always my favorite kind of quilting! Sasha has become our most popular pattern ever, and for good reason -- look how regal she looks. I know that lions are supposed to be the king of the jungle, but she certainly looks like a queen.

Interested in getting your feet wet with this technique??

For the first time in years, you can grab the Scrappy Applique Workshop as a stand alone/instant access class! And when you join now, you’ll also receive a bonus pattern bundle—a curated collection of some of my most popular Scrappy Appliqué designs (including Sasha!) to help you dive in and start making right away.

Walk away.     Here's what I want you to know: the flailing usually isn't a color problem. It's a starting-point problem. A couple of weeks...
How small is too small to save?
You know the moment. You've just finished a project, you're tidying up, and you're holding a little piece of fabric over the scrap bin thinking: is this worth keeping? Save everything, and the scraps take over your studio. Toss too much, and you feel that little stab of guilt — because throwing away something that beautiful just feels wrong. I get asked about this all the time, so this wee...
The "Bette Midler" Effect
Have you ever fallen head-over-heels for a fabulous print at the quilt shop — brought it home, petted it, admired it… and then never used it, because you couldn’t figure out what on earth to pair it with? You are in very good company. Prints add so much interest and personality to a quilt, but with so many kinds of prints out there, mixing them can feel overwhelming. So let me hand you my f...
