The Woman Who Walks Into the Room Differently
Welcome to the business side of Notes from the Studio
I’ve had women tell me,
“The Certified Teacher Program changed my life.”
And they weren’t talking about the money they made teaching.
They were talking about who they became.
Because something shifts when you stand at the front of a room
and help light a spark in someone else.

When you show someone how to see color differently…
When you guide them through a technique they thought was too hard…
When you watch their face change as they realize,
“Oh. I can do this.”
You change too.
You start to see yourself differently.
You stop being “just someone who quilts.”
You become a leader.
Not because you’re the most experienced.
Not because you know everything.
But because you are willing to guide.
And when you become the woman who helps light lightbulbs…
you stand a little taller.
You walk into rooms differently.
You speak differently.
You start to trust your voice.
Confidence doesn’t come from sitting around thinking about being confident.
It comes from doing.
From engaging.
From showing up.
From facilitating breakthroughs.
And when confidence grows in one area of your life…
It spreads.
You’re different at your guild.
Different in conversations.
Different at family gatherings.
Different in business.
Different even in how you talk to yourself.
You realize:
“I have something to contribute.”
And once you see that…
you can’t unsee it.
Opportunities that were always there suddenly become visible.
Possibilities expand.
You feel energized instead of depleted.
Because creativity isn’t meant to be hoarded.
It’s meant to ripple.
One candle lighting another.
And another.
And another.
And here’s the beautiful irony:
When you help someone else believe in themselves…
You strengthen your own belief too.

That’s what changes.
It’s not just that you start teaching.
It’s that you start seeing yourself as the kind of woman who can.
Have a beautiful rest of your day,
Shannon
P.S. If you’re interested in becoming a quilt/craft teacher, keep an eye out for emails from me, as we’ll be opening up Earlybird Enrollment for our 2026 Certified Teacher Program soon!
If you missed the last email, I shared a bit more context here.
