Last year we launched the Art School for Makers, a mastery program for both Entrepreneurs and Creatives. The culmination of the program happens on September 12th where we will exhibit our students work! To celebrate this event, we are hosting a 3-day retreat featuring classes designed to help you continue your artistic and business journey.

In this 2 day class, you’ll explore and define your unique aesthetic and style through a series of color, design, and brainstorming exercises, pulling from a room full of inspiration. You’ll learn and experiment with a variety of techniques, then combine 2 or more of those techniques and weave in your defined style to create something totally original.

Ready to take your creative business to the next level? In this full day intensive (but fun!) retreat, you will craft a custom plan on how to do just that. You’ll connect and network with and be inspired by Shannon and your fellow Art School Entrepreneurs in this intimate Mastermind.Â

The exhibit and retreat are located in beautiful and historic, Leesburg, VA, at MOVE a vibrant loft in the downtown area. Our city is full of brick sidewalks, Colonial and Victorian buildings, and lots of fantastic shopping & dining options, all in an adorable and slow-paced town.Â
Make a trip out of it and visit one of the many vineyards, breweries, historic gardens and estates nearby, or drive 45 minutes to visit Washington DC or one of the many other historic sites in this area.

Ready to take your creative business to the next level? In this full day intensive (but fun!) retreat, you will craft a custom plan on how to do just that. You’ll connect and network with and be inspired by Shannon and your fellow entrepreneurs in this intimate Mastermind.
The full Creative Business Mastermind will be in 3 parts: the full day, in person retreat in Leesburg, VA, as well as a prep call and follow up call via zoom.

You’ll have a live call with Shannon and fill out a short workbook to prepare for the retreat, so you can get the absolute most from the day together.
Marketing as Art: In this lecture and workshop, you will build your custom marketing plan that will not only help your business to stand out, but reflect your creativity. Whether this is your first time building a marketing strategy, you want to tweak or add to some of the customer outreach you’ve done in the past, or you’d like to find a way to scale your marketing efforts, this fun and comprehensive workshop will help you to make marketing just as fun as the rest of your business!
We'll also have Mastermind hotseats! We'll go around to each business owner and collaborate on your specific challenge and come up with unique solutions for you. This is the magic of a Mastermind -- the sum of our experience, creativity, and expertise really is better than the individual parts, and we all get to benefit from that!
Meet with Shannon via Zoom for a follow up a few weeks after the retreat to get any new questions answered, cement what you took away from the Mastermind, and check in on any action you’ve taken since. This will be a great way to ground what you have learned and bookend this Mastermind experience.

We'll be providing all the materials, tools, and equipment you need for the entire retreat. All you need to bring are clothes, toiletries, and a readiness to learn and have fun! You'll probably also want the camera on your phone to snap lots of memories!
Materials will vary by class, but will include fabric, fusibles, fabric dye, etc. If you can, bring your "You Board" to help guide you through your creative process.

During the retreat, we'll take a lunch break, giving you the chance to explore Leesburg and enjoy a meal at one of its many local restaurants. For those attending the Craft Business Mastermind, we’ll be providing lunch since it’s a one-day event, and we want to maximize our time together.
You'll get a workbook that will guide you through all the content in the retreat, and make taking notes and recalling everything you've learned at home easy!

You will be responsible for your travel arrangements, whether you are flying or driving in. The retreat will be packed with creativity, so unless you live very close, we recommend traveling the days before and after the retreat (or extend your trip and visit Washington DC, one of the many vineyards, or other historic sites in the area!)
If flying, we recommend flying into Dulles Airport. It is only a 20 minute drive from Leesburg.Â
We will be providing all the supplies & equipment you'll need! We recommend you bring your "You Board." Of course, if you have some favorite tools or fabric you want to bring, you are welcome, but you won't need to pack anything other than your travel essentials.
You will be responsible for arranging and covering your lodging. There are lots of fantastic options in and around Leesburg. Find some recommendations on this page above in the "What's Included" drop down section under "Hotel Information & Meals".
Please also plan for how you will transport yourself to/from the airport as well as to/from the retreat location. If you are staying in downtown Leesburg, you will be able to walk to the retreat as well as to many restaurants and shops! So you could easily get an Uber or taxi to and from the airport if you don't want to rent a car.
